Meet Billie

Billie has never been one for following the crowd. With her mix of recycled denim, reclaimed upholstery fabric and royal blue lacing, she's got a relaxed, free-spirited attitude with just the right amount of rebellious charm.

Her sculptural torso shape gives her plenty of personality, while the combination of denim, upholstery fabric and silver details gives her a distinctive look. Royal blue lacing runs neatly up the centre of both the front and back, complementing the fabrics and bringing the design together.

Finished with silver hardware, chunky silver strap connectors and a detachable silver chain strap, Billie has a little edge to her style. She's not particularly interested in being ladylike — she's here to do things her own way.

Original design, individual character

Billie is part of my Torso Collection, a series of sculptural handbags inspired by the human form. I designed the original bag pattern myself, developing the shape and construction to turn the idea of a wearable torso sculpture into a practical handbag.

That original pattern is the foundation for the collection, but each bag gets its own look and personality through my choice of fabrics, colours, textures and embellishments. I love experimenting with materials and seeing how different combinations can transform the same basic shape.

Billie's combination of recycled denim and reclaimed upholstery fabric gives new life to materials that might otherwise be overlooked. Paired with her royal blue lacing and silver details, she has a character all of her own.

Every bag is made individually in my studio, combining artistic experimentation with the craftwomanship of traditional bag-making.
